TypeScout is built as a local-first macOS font workspace. Your font library and organization data stay on your Mac.
TypeScout reads information needed to display and manage fonts on your Mac, including font names, families, styles, file metadata, activation state, collections, tags, ratings, notes, previews, and other workspace settings you create in the app.
This information is processed for TypeScout’s functionality and stored locally in the app’s macOS data container or in locations you explicitly choose.
TypeScout does not require a TypeScout account. We do not operate an advertising system, sell personal information, or upload your font-library contents to our servers.
TypeScout does not use external analytics or telemetry to monitor your font library or your activity inside the app.
When you import, link, activate, organize, preview, or inspect fonts, TypeScout works with files on your Mac. Access to files outside TypeScout’s app container is controlled by macOS and by the files or folders you choose to make available to the app.
TypeScout does not claim ownership of your fonts or font files. You remain responsible for the licenses that apply to the fonts you use.
TypeScout Pro subscriptions are offered through the Mac App Store. Purchases, free trials, renewals, cancellations, billing, and payment information are processed by Apple under your Apple Account.
TypeScout may receive subscription entitlement information from Apple so the app can determine whether Pro features should be available. TypeScout does not receive your full payment-card details.
If you contact us for support, we receive the information you choose to include in your message, such as your email address, TypeScout version, macOS version, screenshots, or diagnostic details. We use that information only to respond to and troubleshoot your request.
If TypeScout’s data practices materially change, this page will be updated to reflect the new behavior before or when the change becomes available.
